01/02 Local Numbers to Landline or Mobile
Why do people ring Local numbers?
People call Local numbers because they perceive your company to be local to them and therefore offer a local service. Another reason is that Local numbers are charged at the standard rate which could be inclusive on some Landline and Mobile packages.
Why do people ring London 020 Local numbers?
People call London Local numbers because they prefer to do business with London firms.
Distinguish between Private and Business calls?
You can distinguish Business calls by pointing your Local number to BT's Call Sign number. Click HERE for details. When people call your Business Local number the phone will ring with a different cadence i.e. instead of Ring..Ring......Ring...Ring it will sound more like Ring......Ring......Ring......Ring (American style).

Stats and payments
Many companies will use different numbers for different advertising campaigns so that they can monitor the response from each campaign. They also use different number ranges for the same departments some will be Freephone 0800 or 0844/5 and some revenue share numbers They can all point to the same landline or mobile number
Being a small operation with only a mobile to receive calls on can be really off-putting to potential customers. They perceive you to have no fixed business abode and may not be around if they need to contact you again. Having any of the number ranges available here to carry on your advertisements, alongside your mobile number, gives the impression of a local landed company who is well established and easier to contact. Having an Local number will dispel any fears customers may have of calling a PAYG mobile. You can have several different numbers connected to your mobile at the same time and suggest a Local number to generate a better return on your costly advertising.
An Local number is a business number in which the caller pays erregardless of where they are calling from in the UK from a BT phone.
When a customer calls you on your Local number, the call is automatically and seamlessly directed to a number you specify either your landline or mobile number. Your landline or mobile number is unaffected and your customers can still ring them if they wish.
You simply re-point your Local number. No stationary, advertising or phone book entries to change.
If your landline or mobile fails we can route your calls to a different number.
Admin fees apply to numbers pointing to landlines or mobiles and are capped at only £2 per account.
Therefore having more than one number is no more expensive.
